En este curso aprenderás todo lo necesario para profundizar en las causas de la hernia discal lumbar y su aplicación al método Pilates como método de prevención y mejora de la salud a través del control motor. GATE CONTROL SYSTEM es un sistema de ejercicios y movimientos que producirán una gran inhibición del dolor, es por ello, que podremos trabajar con personas que tengan dolor crónico a través de ejercicios y movimientos consiguiendo una disminución del dolor, una relajación muscular por contracción-relajación así como una estimulación de la circulación sanguínea. La lumbalgia y lumbociatalgia son unos de los motivos más frecuente por el que las personas acuden a consulta y de ahí derivados a nuestros centros de Pilates. 
Dentro de las causas que provocan este dolor lumbar, son sin duda las disfunciones de origen discal, bien sean protusiones o hernias discales que, además, nos desconciertan a la hora de organizar unos objetivos de trabajo correctos, sobre todo por el gran desconocimiento que tenemos sobre ellas. 
Hoy tenemos datos suficientes para plantear una correcta valoración funcional de los trastornos discales y orientar al alumno, una vez derivado por el médico o el fisioterapeuta, hacia un ejercicio preventivo evitando nuevas dolencias. Y sobre todo, nuestra función principal es la prevención, es la conservación de la salud para que estas patologías no aparezcan o no vuelvan a remitir, dentro de un tipo de prevención primario y a veces secundario.
