Candidates that pass the National Pilates Certification Exam are awarded the title of Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT).


The National Pilates Certification Exam consists of 125, multiple choice questions. The exam is administered at testing centers worldwide or online - remote live proctored, in the comfort of your *home/office. Candidates are allowed 3 (three) hours to complete the exam and the passing score is 80.

*Home/office option remains a proctored exam. Candidates must strictly follow the testing company's guidelines. Please verify technology compatibility beforehand; it is the candidate's responsibility to ensure equipment compatibility and system check prior to the test day as registration fee is nonrefundable.

Applications 

Applications are available on the NPCP website and must be accessed online. Apply when ready to take the exam as eligibility is 90 days (3 moths).

IMPORTANT: You must u
se a desktop computer or a laptop. Accessing the application from a mobile device will cause connectivity issues with payment and scheduling. For details on testing, read the Candidate Handbook in its entirety.

Candidates will be prompted to create and account (if you previously had an account, sign in to continue) and provide the following:

 Legal name as it appears on current official documents. Acceptable IDs in Latin alphabet: state issued driver's license, state issued identification card, government issued passport, passport card, green card, alien registration, permanent resident card, national identification card, and military ID.
 Address - City - State or Province - Postal Code
 School/ Mentor contact name and email address that provided Pilates training


Application Submission

 Candidates will be prompted to choose between going to a testing center or taking the exam remotely (remote live proctored). Go here to view testing center available - click "Test Cite Cities".
 Candidates need to complete payment to submit their application
 Candidates are notified of application status via email within 24 hours of submission
 Approved candidates will receive a link via email to schedule their exam. Make sure to check junk/spam folder. *Candidates may schedule their exam at a later date, but testing must be completed within 3 months (90 days) of application submission
 After scheduling an exam date, candidates will receive an email confirmation that contains the test date, time, and site address and directions if applicable

It is extremely important that candidates read the Candidate Handbook provided here and on the application page in its entirety.

NOTE: Application fees are nonrefundable.



Rescheduling Exam

Candidates may cancel or reschedule an exam appointment without forfeiting their fee if notice is given 48 hours prior to the scheduled exam date.  Candidates are given 3 (three) months from the date of application submission to schedule and complete their exam.

Reasonable Accommodations

Reasonable accommodations are provided for candidates who have any sort of impairment e.g., walking, talking, hearing, reading, performing manual tasks, etc. To apply for reasonable accommodations, the candidate must submit documentation provided within the past 12 months by a medical professional on the professional’s letterhead. The documentation must reference a diagnosis of the disability and specific recommendations for accommodations. Reasonable accommodations are considered based on the candidate’s request, disability, documentation submitted, and appropriateness of the request. Reasonable accommodations do not include steps that fundamentally alter the purpose or nature of the exam.
